Antonio Figueroa was born and raised in Watsonville and attended local schools. He is a first-generation American whose parents emigrated from Mexico; he is one of twelve children.
Antonio began his law enforcement career in 1996 as a Correctional Officer with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
In 2002, he was hired by the Watsonville Police Department. After working at the Watsonville Police Department for several years, he went to work at the San Jose Police Department, returning to the Watsonville Police Department in 2011.
Antonio earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute and University. He is also a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute.
He has served in several capacities within the Watsonville Police Department as a patrol officer, gang detective, Rangemaster, firearms instructor, a member of our Special Response Team, administrative sergeant, professional standards division sergeant, and professional standards division captain. He is currently assigned to the patrol Field Operations Division.
