City of Watsonville Water Line Replacement Project: Upgrades to Impact Marchant Street from East Beach Street to Riverside Drive
The goal of the City’s Water Line Replacement Project is to provide our residents and businesses with high quality water and reliable service while limiting water loss and water waste caused from leaks in antiquated infrastructure. With over 100 miles of water lines that are between 50 and 80 years old, the Public Works and Utilities’ Water Division is tasked with a sizable job upgrading this underground network. The first order of business for this city-wide improvement project includes the installation of one mile of new water main piping, hydrants, and various domestic services in the areas listed below with corresponding timeframes. There are no planned disruptions to water service throughout the duration of this project. To better serve our residents and businesses, and to lessen the impact our work may have on the community, the City has broken up the project into road work phases based on location that will take place between the hours of 7:00AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, starting February of 2018.
Locations:
- Marchant from Beach St. to Riverside
- Maple from Union St. to Lincoln St.
- Grant St. & Bockius St. Location
- Elm St. from Union St. to Lincoln St.
