Update - 9/24/19
The Roache Road sewer replacement project continues. The contractor is installing new sewer on Airport Blvd. to the intersection of Roache Road. During the working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., one lane of Airport Blvd. will be closed, and the intersection at Roache Road will be closed to through traffic. Sewer replacement work will continue up Roache Road towards Whitney Avenue next week. We appreciate your patience during construction while this necessary sewer replacement work takes place.
Update - 9/24/19
Public works is hard at work to improve City infrastructure. The Roache Road Sewer Replacement Project will have Roache Road closed between Carey Avenue and Freedom Blvd. during the working hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Local access to residences and businesses will be maintained. Residents should expect some delays while travelling in the area, and all thru traffic is encouraged to take alternate routes when possible. Emergency access will be maintained at all times. We appreciate your patience during these necessary improvements.
Update - 9/13/19
The Roache Road project is underway. Initial potholing was completed and has exposed some unforeseen utility conflicts which has delayed the start of trenching work for the new sewer project. The Contractor plans to begin trench layout and sawcutting next week. Impacts to traffic will be minimal. Trenching work is expected to begin the week of September 23rd. The Contractor will provide 48-hour notice to impacted residents prior to beginning this trenching work.
August 15, 2019
Potholing on Roache Road will begin on August 22, 2019 and trenching should begin at the beginning of September. The sewer replacement project will consist of the removal and replacement of 1,900 lineal feet of sewer in Roache Road. Local traffic control will be in place.
The sewer will be replaced with 8" PVC pipe. The project includes the replacement of three manholes that serve this line, the installation of two new manholes to correct the spacing between existing manholes, the adjustment of the pipe slope for better flow, and also the re-connection of the sewer laterals serving each property on the line.
