November 8, 2022 General Municipal Election

On March 8, 2022, the City Council approved Resolution No. 49-22 ordering the submission to the qualified electors of the City a measure to amend the Watsonville 2005 General Plan to impose certain restrictions on subsequent amendments as provided in the Watsonville Planned Growth and Farmland Protection Initiative; requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Cruz to consolidate the Election regarding the Initiative with the November 8, 2022 General Election and to permit the Santa Cruz County Department of Elections to conduct said election.

On June 28, 2022, the City Council approved Resolution No. 142-22 ordering an election on November 8, 2022 to submit to the voters an ordinance to establish a community investment transactions and use tax (sales tax) at the rate of one half percent (0.5%) for general municipal purposes until ended by voters; requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Cruz to consolidate the Election regarding the ordinance with the November 8, 2022 statewide General Election and to permit the Santa Cruz County Elections Department to conduct said election.
