English as a Second Language

Students will learn to speak, listen, read, and write English in classes from beginning to advanced levels. Classes focus on interactive student activities that provide the opportunity to practice English for everyday situations.

TAIJI

Location: Callaghan Park Cultural Center

Tuesday 8:30-9:15 AM

TaiJi is a slow-moving martial art that focuses on deep breathing and relaxation. As a moving meditation, TaiJi instills confidence, poise, and security in oneself while bringing about full-body awareness that you can carry into everyday life.

Bilingual Chair Yoga

Yoga for All Movement brings gentle chair-based yoga classes taught in both English and Spanish ensuring accessibility to a diverse group of seniors. These classes not only promote physical health through yoga, but also foster a sense of community and belonging.

Learn the fundamentals of ballet while improving balance and posture. Fitted clothing that allows for movement and ballet slippers are recommended, but socks or bare feet are also permitted.

Explore the world through dance! This deliriously fun fitness program fuses dance styles from around the globe. No prior dance experience necessary, but athletic footwear and comfortable clothes to exercise are recommended.

Senior Nature Walk

Last Tuesday of the Month

Partnered with the Watsonville Nature Center, these guided walks encourage physical activity, social interaction, and connection with nature. Participants will learn about local ecosystems, wildlife habitats, and conservation efforts all while gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Watsonville Wetlands. Every last Tuesday of the month. Older Adults and their families/friends are welcome to join. Contact Nancy Porto at 831.768.3161 for the meeting location.

Post Stamp Club

First Wednesday of the Month

Stamp collecting offers a fascinating journey into the rich tapestry of world history, culture, and art. Whether individually or in a club setting, this hobby opens doors and offers interests you may not otherwise expect. Come explore the world’s past, present, and future through the lens of postal stamps
