The National Weather Service has predicted some rain will make its way to our region next week. Here are some important tips to help you prepare for the potential challenges that come with winter storms:  

Sandbags 

If you live in a flood-prone area, prepare by picking up sandbags and clearing your storm drains of leaves, litter, and other debris.   

Sandbags are available 24/7 at two self-serve stations: 
โ–ช๏ธJoyce McKenzie Park, 500 Joyce Drive  
โ–ช๏ธ๏ธFire Station 1, 115 2nd Street

CruzAware is our county’s new community alert and warning system designed to keep you informed and safe through phone, email, and text message alerts. Register online at cruzaware.org 


Evacuation Warnings & Orders 

Look up and remember what zone you live in to prepare in the event of an evacuation warning or order. Find out what zone you live in at protect.genasys.com

Dial 2-1-1 to find safe evacuation routes and shelters 
Dial 831- 458-7150 for Santa Cruz County Emergency Services 
Report clogged storm drains to 831-471-1151

El Servicio Meteorológico Nacional ha pronosticado que algunas lluvias llegarán a nuestra región la próxima semana. A continuación les tenemos algunos consejos importantes que le ayudarán a prepararse para los posibles desafíos que conllevan las tormentas invernales: 

Sacos de Arena 

Si vive en un área propensa a inundaciones, prepárese recogiendo sacos de arena y limpiando las hojas, basura y otros escombros de las alcantarillas. 

Sacos de arena están disponibles las 24 horas, los 7 días de la semana en dos estaciones de autoservicio:
