[ARCHIVED] Watsonville Airport Director Receives Prestigious Award

Rayvon Receives Award

The Association of California Airports recently named Watsonville Municipal Airport Director Rayvon Williams the 2023 Michael A. Shutt Award recipient. 

This prestigious award is designed to recognize the efforts of an individual or organization that has significantly contributed to the growth and development of California airports. This recognition highlights Rayvon’s commitment to excellence and continuous improvement for General Aviation airports.

“We look forward to witnessing even greater accomplishments from Rayvon in the future," said Watsonville City Manager René Mendez. “We also want to recognize the hard work and dedication of the entire airport team, as this award reflects the collective efforts of our organization."

Recipients of the award are selected through a thorough evaluation process, with several esteemed panel members from across the industry making the final decisions. Nominees were evaluated against criteria that include: 

• Recognized as a leader in the aviation industry 

• Known for employing innovative techniques to solve complex issues and problems 

• A reputation for enhancing the relationship between airports and the community 

• A contributor to the knowledge base of the industry 

• Developed tools or techniques that have furthered the aviation industry 

𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗔Ñ𝗢𝗟 
La Asociación de Aeropuertos de California nombró recientemente al Director del Aeropuerto Municipal de Watsonville, Rayvon Williams, ganador del Premio Michael A. Shutt 2023. 

Este prestigioso premio está diseñado para reconocer los esfuerzos de un individuo u organización que haya contribuido significativamente al crecimiento y desarrollo de los aeropuertos de California. Este reconocimiento destaca el compromiso de Rayvon con la excelencia y la mejora continua de los aeropuertos de Aviación General. 

“Esperamos ser testigos de logros aún mayores de Rayvon en el futuro”, dijo el Administrador de la Ciudad de Watsonville, René Méndez. “También queremos reconocer el arduo trabajo y la dedicación de todo el equipo del aeropuerto, ya que este premio refleja los esfuerzos colectivos de nuestra organización ". 

Los destinatarios del premio se seleccionan a través de un proceso de evaluación exhaustivo, en el que varios miembros estimados del panel de toda la industria toman las decisiones finales. Los nominados fueron evaluados según criterios que incluyen: 

• Reconocido como líder en la industria de la aviación 

• Conocido por emplear técnicas innovadoras para resolver cuestiones y problemas complejos 

• Una reputación por mejorar la relación entre los aeropuertos y la comunidad 

• Un contribuyente a la base de conocimientos de la industria 

• Herramientas o técnicas desarrolladas que han hecho avanzar la industria de la aviación
