View the current 100 and 500 year Flood Map (PDF) to see whether your property is affected. Portions of the City of Watsonville near the Pajaro River, Corralitos and Salsipuedes Creeks are located in Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) defined Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA), also known as the 100 year flood plain. The City of Watsonville GIS Special Flood Hazard Area Mapping shows the neighborhoods located within the boundary of the SFHA. Chapter 9.2, "Floodplain Management" of the City of Watsonville Municipal Code regulates development within the SFHA and describes special requirements for new construction and remodels and additions for development located in these areas.National Flood Insurance Program
The City of Watsonville participates in the National Flood Insurance Program, which is sponsored by FEMA. Flood insurance is recommended for residents who live in the SFHA because most homeowners insurance does not cover flood damage. Flood insurance is available from local insurance brokers.
