Community Cleanups

Unlike sewer lines that go from our homes and businesses to the wastewater recycling plant, storm drains go directly to our wetlands, creeks, rivers, and the ocean without being treated first.

Our Community Cleanup Program is dedicated to working with Watsonville residents to organize cleanups and together find ways to reduce litter pollution on our streets, and preventing it from contaminating our waterways.

Residents who participate in community cleanups can benefit in many ways:

  • Beautifying their neighborhood
  • Taking home a free trash grabber
  • Connecting with their neighbors
  • Completing volunteer hours
  • Receiving garbage-disposal coupons for our Waste & Recycle Drop-off Center
  • Making new friends
