As part of our Conservation Outreach and Education Program, the Nature Center plays a dynamic role in educating and inspiring residents and visitors alike about our local wetlands, as well as many conservation issues and local environmental services.
The main goal of this program is to work with (you) the community in your chosen area to cleanup and identify ways to reduce litter pollution on the streets from going into the storm drains and ending up in our waterways.
Unlike the sewer lines connected to households and businesses, storm drains go directly to the wetlands, creeks, rivers, and ocean without being treated first.
The City of Watsonville in partnership with Watsonville Wetlands Watch has developed an Adopt-A-Trail Program where volunteers can assist with maintaining, enhancing and monitoring the City of Watsonville trails.
Earth Day & Day of the Child is a yearly festival in Watsonville to celebrate our youth and share knowledge, resources, and cultural inspiration and to inspire our community to be lovers and protectors of the earth and all it has to give us.
